However, it still is fun to play, and is definitely worth picking up on sale.. Monster Bash is horror themed platformer where main character saves cats and dogs from evil creatures. I have to say that part 1 and 3 are quite good (I didn't like much about level design of part 2). Game itself is not anything special, just normal platformer, and most annoying thing is to try find all pets before you can continue to the next level. Music and sound effects are okay, just not good or bad.Main characther's slingshot has not straight firing arc so it brings some extra flavor to the game.Buy this if you playd this at the 90s or you like Old School platformers, otherwise wait for sale.. Died to a giant bouncing eyeball.10/10 would play again.. A surprisingly interesting platformer... kind of a weird compromise between methodical, precision platformers like Oddworld and the versatile and ruthless 'run and shoot' Megaman style. Like both those games, it is hhaarddd and frustrating, slow and unintuitive. You'll learn what kills you through trial and error and be loading saves a bunch. But on the plus side, the sensibilities remind me a lot of Doom 2, where it prioritizes level design over uniformity, making the levels memorable.Reccomended *ONLY* if you're a snooty retro precision-platforming connoisseur and you know what you're in for, Otherwise you might hate it. The second level is ughhh such a hassle. Maybe try the shareware demo if that's still a thing?. So good! Monsters, blood, secrets and badass music!. 8/10One more platformer from Apogee, Monster Bash does platforming very well. The game is very fun while also being very challenging, with lots of different powerups to use and levels that greatly vary from each other, both on design and on challenge level. It's also curious that for a game that looks cute and where you're supposed to save cats and dogs, it can be a quite gory game as enemies will explode into gory bits when they die.The biggest downside to this game is that the boss fights are very lackluster, the final boss in the game in special.But the ending completely makes up to that - it's one of the cutest game endings I've ever seen.
